- Woven hexagonal mesh (double‑twist) - Woven gabions are made from double‑twisted hexagonal mesh. In this weave, one wire is wrapped twice around the adjoining wire, which is why it’s commonly called “double‑twist.” This construction delivers high durability while providing the flexibility the structure needs.
- Mesh aperture: 8 × 10 cm - An 80 × 100 mm aperture strikes a balance between the most common welded gabion mesh sizes: 50 × 100 mm and 100 × 100 mm.
- Wire diameter: 2.7 mm - A 2.7 mm wire highlights the stone and visually reduces the bulk of the steel structure—an effect that’s desirable in most applications.
- Coating: GALFAN Zn (95%) + Al (5%) - Galfan, a zinc–aluminum alloy coating (95% Zn, 5% Al), is widely regarded as the highest‑quality corrosion protection for gabions. It offers excellent resistance to weathering, long service life, and minimal maintenance, making it ideal for demanding conditions.. Woven gabions are supplied flat for assembly on site using fasteners, tie wires, or C‑clips. To ensure a neat, straight front face, always brace the face while filling—scaffolding tubes or other suitable spacers help the gabion keep clean lines.
